GGI Y2K Statement
We have had many inquiries about the Year 2000 (Y2K) bug and the potential
effect on GGI hosting products. Our Virtual Server and
Dedicated Server software and hardware has never stored a 2-digit year-value within a date,
so our hosting products will be immune from the Y2K bug. Our hosting products
have continued to function as expected in the Year 2000.
The GGI billing system also has never stored a 2-digit year-value within a date, hence the
Y2K problem will not impact your account with us. However, this does not
mean that your own banking institution is immune from the Y2K bug.
We advise you to check with your bank
to inquire what program has been implemented to assure that your credit
card will continue to work properly in the Year 2000 and beyond.
Server Add-On Y2K Issues
We have tested many of the software packages that we
offer as Server Add-Ons for our Virtual Servers. Several of them
are not Y2K compliant.
- http-analyze
We have patched http-analyze so that it is Y2K compliant, but we cannot
guarantee the performance of this patch. The patch has been applied to
previously installed versions of http-analyze on all Virtual Servers.
You do not need to re-install http-analyze in order to apply this fix.
The previous version
is not Y2K compliant and will not function correctly after 12/31/1999.
- MKStats
We have patched MKStats so that it is Y2K compliant, but we cannot
guarantee the performance of this patch. If you have previously installed MKStats you
must re-install MKStats in order to apply this fix. The previous version
is not Y2K compliant and will not function correctly after 12/31/1999.
- GetStats
We have patched GetStats so that it is Y2K compliant, but we cannot
guarantee the performance of this patch. The previous version is not
Y2K compliant and will not function correctly after 12/31/1999.
If you are currently using http-analyze, MKStats, or GetStats to build
statistical reports of your web site traffic, we strongly recommend that you
migrate to a package that is Y2K compliant.
Analog
continues to be supported and is also freely available for easy
installation on all Virtual Servers.
